  • Yama Sushi

    Yama Sushi

Yama Sushi came through in the clutch for us. We were ordering our “usual” for delivery with Uber Eats and the restaurant cancelled our order. We had already gotten in sushi mode so we decided we *had* to have sushi. Here is where Yama Sushi steps up. We hadn’t been there before, but there were these beautiful classic and signature rolls just waiting for us. Even better, they were made and delivered SO fast. Super fresh. We are happy.

    Magic Roll and Friends

So the specialty roll this time around is the Magic Roll: smoked salmon, jalapeño, cream cheese, and deep-fried sushi wrapped in soy paper.

Very pleased – would order again. And the price on some of the standard rolls is way better than we are used to seeing. We are actually going to show up in person next time.

  • Kasai

    Kasai

We ordered happy hour teppanyaki at Kasai and basically lived our best life. We are still trying to figure out how they can make a profit off the low prices — because the food is fantastic and it’s still just as much of a show at happy hour, even if you show up at 3:30 like us.

But we aren’t here for the teppanyaki, we’re here for the sushi. Our focus this dinner was the Alaskan roll: crab mix and avocado topped with salmon. This roll could have been a meal in and of itself. Carter gives it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

  • Yen Sushi

    Yen Sushi

Sushi on a revolving conveyor belt. Five stars!! We are back for the second day in a row. The restaurant stays consistently full but never feels busy.

How does it work? You sit by the revolving counter and grab what you want. At the end, they’ll count up your plates: Yellow = $2, Green = $2.50, Blue = $3; and White = $3.50. Be prepared to stack an embarrassing number of plates here because it’s a fun way to try new rolls. It’s hard to resist the opportunity as they roll right by you.

    The cost

The spicy tuna roll was 💯 and we definitely had our fair share of rolls with shrimp, tuna and crab. This was our first time trying the Tamago (omelet) roll — because it’s honestly the first time we have seen it! Sweet and pretty wonderful, especially if you have a child in your party who has maxed out on raw fish.

    Tamago

The exceptional thing here is how fresh the rolls tasted. Even the Philly roll was worth writing home about. Rumor has it they have had one of the same chefs since the beginning. Our first visit we sat next to a father and son who had driven across town to eat here— yet, this felt like a gem in our own backyard we had never heard about.

    Revolving Belt

Worth checking out for sure! Since one person on our team has a crab meat allergy, I’d just note that having a few more rolls sans crab meat would make our day. But we won’t be picky. Still 5 ⭐️s! The servers are notably helpful and kind. And while we can’t figure out the connection, we are happy to end the meal with a plate of macarons!

  • Phoenix Suns Sushi

    Phoenix Suns Sushi

We have no idea what we got. It was a playoff game and we were focused on the *WIN*. We know this: it had purple rice, a little spice, and was fantastic—particularly for a grab and go.

Who can tell us what we ate? 😂😂

  • RA Sushi

    RA Sushi

Ra North Scottsdale is consistently fantastic sushi and our go-to place when we just need a fix. Our fave specialty roll is the Crazy Monkey Roll: smoked salmon, mango and cream cheese that is rolled in avocado and served with red tempura bits, sauteed cashews, & mango and eel sauces.

    Crazy Monkey Roll

Curbside is simple at the North Scottsdale location. Having ordered curbside an excessive number of times here (think… weekly), we can tell you the host staff is always kind and quick so it’s a quick grab on your way home from work. The sushi is on ice so it’s restaurant fresh by the time you get home.

The vibe of the restaurant is casual Scottsdale. You could take a date there or feel great grabbing a bite in the middle of your day.
