Poke Bar

Poke Bar is our happy place. It is strangely addictive and once we eat there, we get in a rotation of weekly Poke Bar that we can’t (and don’t want to) get out of… It’s just that good.

We can’t count the number of times I have eaten at the Mayo Blvd. and the Shea Blvd. Poke Bar locations. They’re pretty much indistinguishable. Same generous portions. Happy us.

The large bowl (four scoops of protein) is worth it every time. Start with your base: brown rice, white rice, mixed green or chips. Carter is all about the white rice and Ashley is all about the brown rice. The salmon and ahi tuna call our name and then we switch it up every time with the veggies. Cucumber, kale and edamame are usually on the list. Then we finish with some sides — seaweed salad being the fave — and usually prefer our sauces on the side so we can alternate. Usually, our list of sauces includes spicy mayo, sweet chili and house. We aren’t really toppings people, but there is that if that’s your thing.

For the turbo speed you’ll walk out the door with your custom order, I have to say the bowl is always super fresh. There are times we walk out of a sushi restaurant having spent $60, but you could spend $15 here and be so full you won’t eat the rest of the day. Win.
